 With the amendment of the Fire Safety Act in 2023 in Korea, the mandatory installation of fire extinguishers for vehicles has been expanded from 7-seats to 5-seats and above. Even though it's not legally required, considering the increasing number of fire incidents due to the proliferation of equipment in vehicles, it's highly recommended to install adequate fire extinguishers for the safety of drivers and passengers in case of a fire.   Recently there are lots of fire cases reported from the electric vehicle. The EV fire case is quite different with other vehicle fire, with lithium-ion battery it can be very dangerous. The lithium-ion battery caught on fire, it can give off huge amount of heat and fire and lead to the Thermal runaway which spread the fire cell to cell of the rest of the battery.   The key is to cool down the battery as soon as possible, and the most popular way is to sink down – flooding the battery to water.     Portable extinguishing water tank is one of the new methods to extinguish electric vehicle fires.
